Our Team

Dr. Keri Dennis grew up in Derby, Kansas. She received her undergraduate degree from Wichita State University. Dr. Dennis graduated with honors from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2008. During that time, she gained additional experience while on externship at the Birmingham VA Medical Center and VisionAmerica.

After graduation, Dr. Dennis was chosen to complete a year-long residency at the Birmingham VA Medical Center where she gained additional experience in treating and managing ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation. Dr. Dennis was a member of the honor society, Beta Sigma Kappa, and Gold Key Honor Society. She was awarded the William Feinbloom Low Vision award in 2008.
 

Dr. Dennis is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association (KOA) and the American Optometric Association (AOA). She is also a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC). Dr. Dennis enjoys all aspects of primary eye care and has a particular interest in myopia control therapy or specific treatments to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children.
 

Dr. Dennis currently resides in Olathe with her husband and 3 kiddos. When they are not attending one of the kid's activities, you can find them rooting for the Jayhawks, the Royals, or the Chiefs!

Dr. Carrie Hartigan grew up in Southwest Missouri, attending Pittsburg State University and receiving a degree in Biochemistry. For Optometry school, she attended the University of Missouri St. Louis School of Optometry graduating with honors including Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key Optometric Honor Societies in May of 2013. She was also awarded the Missouri Optometric Foundation Leadership Award in 2011 and 2012.

Her training included externships with the KCVA Hospital, Indian Health Services of Ada, OK, Children’s Hospital at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City. She also volunteered on a trip to Concepcion, Bolivia providing ophthalmic health exams and glasses correction to populations with no care available. Through these experiences, it became clear the niche she would develop within pediatric optometry.

Since graduation, Dr. Hartigan has been practicing in Springfield, Missouri for a local hospital providing pediatric optometric care. She worked with pediatric specialists including endocrinology, rheumatology, and neurology in addition to pediatricians. She treats amblyopia, strabismus, failed vision screenings, pre-verbal patients, cataracts, ptosis, uveitis/JIA, diabetic eye exams, and special needs populations. Amblyopia has become a specialty within her career; the leading cause of preventable vision loss in children.

Dr. Hartigan comes to the area with her husband, Joe, and rescue dog Ruffy. They reside in Shawnee, KS. They enjoy life’s adventures including traveling, hikes, hot yoga, car shows, and spending time with family and friends.

Combining her expertise in childcare with her knowledge of myopia management, Cassie is dedicated to providing the best possible care for patients of all ages. She understands the importance of early intervention and comprehensive myopia management, especially for children, and is committed to raising awareness about the condition.

In her free time, Cassie enjoys playing with her adorable daughter, exploring the outdoors, reading, and taking weekend lake trips. These activities help her recharge and stay connected with nature, contributing to her overall well-being and enhancing her ability to provide compassionate care.
